So shut up, live, travel, adventure, bless and
This quote from Jack Kerouac’s „Desolation Angels“ best reflects my way of living and travelling.
My Name is Ina and I definitely have the travel bug.
At the age of 14 I met Jack Kerouac for the first time and felt in love with his books. Fortunately I liked his lifestyle more than the one of Bukowski and Burroughs, otherwise I wouldn’t be alive right now and writing this.
Later than more inspiration through:
Paul Theroux: Hotel Honolulu, The Great Railway Bazaar
Patrick Jake O’Rourke: Holidays in Hell
Ryszard Kapuscinski: The Shadow of the Sun: My African Life, Travels with Herodotus
Gregory David Roberts: Shantaram
John Steinbeck: Travels with Charley in Search of America
and a german author Roger Willemsen: Die Enden der Welt, Momentum, Bangkok Noir
and of course many more!
My very first trip was an organized one with bus and my Bulgarian family to Greece at the age of 11. This trip was exciting but had convinced me to travel differently in the future. Many years after my migration to Germany I could start travelling like I wanted: on my own or with friends, backpack, open-minded, curious about people and culture, ready to dive in everything that crosses my way. Marocco, New York, Vietnam and than at last my dream to travel a long time came true. I spent 4 months in South America and hell yeah, it’s not gonna be the last time I’ve done this! I promise you!
p.s. Pls do not be surprised if you can’t find anything about South America – coming soon 🙂
